About Us

Helping Drivers Succeed Starts With Understanding the Road Ahead

HDS Truck Driving Institute helps students prepare for transportation careers through hands-on CDL training, experienced instructors, and career-focused support. With deep roots in the transportation industry, HDS understands what students need to move from training toward real career opportunities.

Our mission is simple: Helping Drivers Succeed.

A Transportation Legacy Built Into HDS

HDS grew from a multi-generational transportation background. The story began with George Prall, founder of Highway Express and Driver Dispatch Corporation, and continued with his son, Doug Prall, who built experience across trucking, logistics, warehousing, brokerage, fleet operations, driver staffing, and safety services.

In 1991, HDS Truck Driving Institute was founded to help meet the industry’s need for qualified CDL drivers.

Today, HDS continues that legacy by helping students prepare for transportation careers. The red stripes in the HDS logo symbolize the airplane Doug Prall sold to help fund the purchase of the first trucks for the driving school. That detail remains part of the HDS story and represents the investment and belief behind establishing the truck driver institute.

A Team That Knows Trucking From the Inside

The HDS team brings experience in CDL training, DOT compliance, safety, fleet operations, staffing, workforce development, and career placement.
That industry knowledge helps students learn from people who understand both what employers expect and what new drivers need as they prepare for the workforce.
