Which CDL Is Right for You?

Your career goals can help determine which path makes the most sense.

A Class A CDL generally provides the broadest range of commercial driving opportunities and prepares drivers for qualifying combination vehicles such as tractor-trailers.

A Class B CDL focuses on qualifying large single vehicles and may be a strong fit for drivers interested in passenger transportation, delivery, construction, utilities, public works, and other careers that often operate closer to home.

Not sure which one fits your goals? HDS Admissions can help you compare the vehicles, schedules, endorsements, and career opportunities associated with each license.

Learn by Doing

Build your skills with real commercial equipment and experienced instructors. Students practice the skills they need behind the wheel, including vehicle inspections, backing, vehicle control, and road driving. HDS combines classroom instruction with hands-on training to help students build knowledge, comfort, and confidence as they prepare for CDL testing.

Train & Test at HDS

HDS is licensed by the Arizona Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Division to provide third-party CDL testing, helping create a more connected path from training and preparation to applicable road testing. Testing eligibility, availability, and requirements may vary.
